Since Summer 2010, the North East has seen electric charging points being unveiled right across the region - on streets, in car parks, at retail parks and in workplaces. These charging points are just the start of a full national infrastructure which will revolutionise the way we live and drive. The Charge your Car project aims to work with partners to put in place over 1,000 points by March 2013 and is always on the look out for potential partners.
Grant funding is currently available and partnership opportunities exist. Join us to lead the charge and make North East England the mosty EV-ready region in Europe.
Through the Plugged in Places programme, match funding is available for the installation of charging points on streets, in car parks and in commercial, retail and leisure facilities.
Electric Vehicles are the future of the automotive industry and manufacturers are investing hundreds of millions of pounds to bring EVs to market.
